Siem Reap International Airport is the busiest airport in Cambodia because it serves Siem Reap – a popular tourist spot due to its proximity to Angkor Wat. 2. Terminals.
Right after setting foot in the Siem Reap Airport, tourists will be immersed themselves in the heritage and culture atmosphere of Cambodia. The terminal building has cathedral-like metallic structure which was inspired by traditional Khmer architecture style. Other details like traditional statues and decorative objects were designed by local artisans from Artisan d’Angkor. All these things contribute to promote the region’s tourism to first time travelers arriving Siem Reap. In addition, the surrounding areas of the airport are landscaped with palm trees and colorful flowers, which offers a relaxing tropical atmosphere.
Domestic and international terminals are located around 50 meters to each other so there is no need to set up shuttle or transfer services between two terminals.
With the small size of Siem Reap Airport’s terminal building, passengers surely feel relaxed and stress-free because they can easily walk straight from airplane into the immigration hall at a short distance.

3. Procedures of arrivals & departure flights.
3.1. Arrival at Siem Reap International Airport.
– Step 1: Disembark and walk outdoor to terminal building (about 200m at most).
– Step 2: Immigration (apply Visa on Arrival or show hard copy of eVisa). This process is quite simple and takes only 5 – 10 minutes.

Domestic departure area has 2 gates while there are 4 gates in international departure area. There are few small café and shops in the check in area but there are more shopping and dining choices in the departure hall.

Besides being the main hub for three Cambodian airlines (Cambodia Angkor Air, Lanmei Airlines, Sky Angkor Airlines), Siem Reap International Airport greets other airlines: Air Asia, Air Busan, Bangkok Airways, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hong Kong Dragon Express, Hong Kong Express Airways, JC International Airlines, Jeststar Asia Airways, Lao Airlines, Qingdao Airlines, Shandong Airlines, SilkAir, Thai AirAsia, Thai Smile Airways, Vietjet Air, Vietnam Airlines, Xiamen Airlines.
There are direct flights between Siem Reap and main tourism hubs in the following countries: China, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. However, this list is subject to change due to flight program modifications from airlines partners.
5. Airport Services.
5.1. SIM card.
Getting a prepaid tourist SIM card at Siem Reap Airport is a quick, easy and painless process. The SIM card selling booths are concentrated in the international terminal arrival. After exiting the customs area into the arrival hall, just turn right and walk for 30m, you will see 4 SIM card selling booths on your right hand side. These 4 booths belong to Cellcard, Metfone, Smart and Seatel – the most popular mobile networks in Cambodia. Each provider has call and internet packages but all are in reasonable rates. Buyers need to show passport and pay by cash only (US dollars or Cambodian Riel are acceptable).
5.2. ATM and Exchange Currency.

Because US dollars are widely accepted throughout Cambodia, tourists are highly suggested to change their currency into USD. It’s also easier to change from USD back to your currency when you’re back home.
ATM machines can be found at international arrival terminal (visa area), international departure check-in area, domestic departure (boarding area).
5.3. WIFI.
Siem Reap Airport has free and unlimited WI-FI inside both arrival and departure terminal. Just select network “VINCI Airports wifi” and enter your valid email and country, you can freely access websites.
5.4. Airport Lounges.
Business lounge in Siem Reap International Airport is operated by the worldwide appreciated brand Plaza Premium Lounge and serves passengers possessing business and first class, gold and platinum airlines membership, and VIP credit cards. Otherwise, walk-in passengers can access this lounge with 2 or 5-hour package at 39 – 55 USD. The package includes a rich all-day buffet and signature drinks, as well as additional services like shower facility and massage treatment.
Plaza Premium Lounge is situated at international departure, near gate 1 and gate 2.
6. Shop and Dine Options.
There are many options for shopping and dining in both terminals but international terminal has more shops and restaurants. However, two terminals are extremely close to each other so domestic flyers can wander to their favorite brand if it’s located in the other terminal without difficulty.
6.1. Food & Drink.
If you happen to get hungry, thirsty or simply find comfortable places to relax while waiting for onward flight, there are about ten restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. The dining choices vary from Khmer, Asian cuisine to international fast food brands; not to mention convenient coffee shops opening from 6:30 am to last flight, offering free WI-FI and outlets to charge your phone or laptop.

6.2. Shopping.
Like other airports, duty-free shops in Siem Reap International Airport sell chocolates, perfumes, cosmetics, skincare products tobacco and alcohol from top-notch brands. You can find traditional handicrafts and artworks to take home at the outlets of Artisan D’Angkor, Senteurs D’Angkor, Smateria and Soma Souvenir. All gather at international departure.
7. Access and Parking.
Parking area is open from 5:30 am to 2 am or last flight. No overnight parking is allowed.
Travel distance from Siem Reap Airport to Siem Reap city center is about 20 minutes and about the same time to access Angkor Wat from there. Passengers have several options to travel from the airport to city center or Angkor Wat: remorque or Cambodian tuk tuk, Pass App and Grab (two app-based taxi services with “modified tuk tuk”),

Siem Reap International Airport doesn’t offer overnight stay service and it closes from 1 am until 6 am daily. Therefore, finding a hotel nearby airport can be a wise choice for those who have overnight layovers or short time between connecting flights and don’t want to waste time moving to/from city center.
